Why would you show breastfeeding if you're going to talk about babies?

"Babies" is being released this Sunday!. I'm really looking forward to seeing it, hopefully with some of my MCH buddies, but I also had to note this little fact that one of them pointed out. According to the MPAA:

"'Babies' is rated PG (Parental Guidance suggested). Breast feeding."

Yes, the movie "Babies" is PG only - only - because it depicts breastfeeding.

The mind boggles.

I wonder if they considered noting it as "nudity", but decided against it? I would imagine to a Westerner, where breasts have been so sexualized, the topless mothers may be shocking, especially because I think this movie is meant to be watched with children. Perhaps many children have never seen a baby reach for a breast, or seen a woman nursing several babies at once (babies that may not be hers), maybe some moms appreciate the heads up.

Hey, Connie Livingston (www.birthsource.com) posted something on Facebook about a new movie about doulas being released in June. I can't find anything about it. Have you heard of it? Our Tarrant Co. Birth Network is doing a Doula Extravaganza for our July meeting. Just curious if you've heard anything...
